Jose Mari Chan songs maybe heard in America?


The Philippines' veteran ballader Jose Mari Chan will have a new cd to be realeased in the country and a valentine show but he is more happy when Janis Siegel -a member of the American vocal group "The Manhattan Transfer" emailed him and their is a possibility for the revival of his songs in U.S. "She emailed me and said you know, one good idea would be maybe to have American singers sing your songs. She felt that they were good enough for American singers." Chan explained.


The Manhattan Transfer first group was established in New York City in 1969, disbanded after a producing a single album, Jukin' (1971). The second line-up was set up in 1972 and is still together as of 2007 (members are Cheryl Bentyne, Tim Hauser, Janis Siegel and Alan Paul). It is famous for mixing jazz, big band, and popular music styles.
